SIROCCO TEA Switzerland - Rooibos Tangerine (Organic rooibos tea with tangerine) - 100 tea bags (100 count hospitality industry bulk box) * Unmistakable, organically grown rooibos from South Africa\'s Cederberg Mountains enjoyable, fruity and caffeine-free. A discreet mandarin note contributes to the individuality of this blend. The rugged beauty of the Cederberg Mountains in the south-west of South Africa is home to the rooibos, or redbush, plant some 200 km to the north of Cape Town, around the towns of Clanwilliam and Citrusdal. This is the only part of the world where it grows, and so it comes as no surprise to learn that it is the national drink of South Africa. No one knows for sure how old the redbush is (its name in Afrikaans is \"rooi\" for red and \"bos\" for bush), but it was first described in 1772 by the botanist Carl Thunberg as a medicinal plant used by the Khoisan people. Unlike black or green tea, rooibos tea contains no caffeine and few tannins, so there is no bitterness in the flavor and no need to worry about sleepless nights. To further refine the flavor of our rooibos we have blended it with a little hibiscus and tangerine, an Asian variety of the better-known mandarin. The result is a superb tea with a wonderful aroma that can be enjoyed late in the evening.
